2) "Character Pieces" are a staple of Romantic piano music. It is based on a single idea or program. They are characterized by the idea they invoke.
3) "Etudes" are three sets of solo studies for piano played by Chopin. There were 27 overall.
4) Frederic Chopin was a very ill man. He also had a relationship with George Sand, a woman. After she made a comic showing him like a weak man, their relationship ended but their friends tried to keep them together.
